Terms and Conditions

By accessing and using the Joyner Family Dental website or attending our practice, you agree to be bound by these terms and conditions. If you do not agree, please do not use this website or our services.
1. Appointments
Booking
Appointments can be made by phone, in person or through our online booking system. All bookings are subject to availability and confirmation by the practice.
Cancellations and Missed Appointments
We ask for at least 24 hours’ notice if you need to cancel or reschedule an appointment. This allows us to offer the time to another patient. Repeated missed appointments without notice may result in a cancellation fee or the requirement to pay a deposit for future bookings.
Late Arrivals
If you arrive late, we will do our best to see you. However, your appointment may need to be shortened or rescheduled to avoid delaying other patients.
2. Treatment and Consent
Before any treatment, your dentist will explain the recommended procedure, expected outcomes, risks, alternatives and estimated costs. Your informed consent is required before treatment proceeds.
Treatment plans are tailored to your individual needs. The final scope and cost of treatment may differ from initial estimates if additional clinical findings emerge during your visit.
3. Payment Terms
Payment Methods
We accept cash, EFTPOS, Visa, Mastercard and health fund claims processed on the spot via HICAPS. Payment plan options including Afterpay and DentiCare may also be available for eligible patients.
Payment Due
Full payment (less any health fund rebate processed at the time of service) is due at the completion of each appointment unless a prior arrangement has been made.
Health Fund Claims
We process health fund claims on the spot where possible. The gap amount (the difference between our fee and your fund’s rebate) is your responsibility and is payable at the time of your appointment. Rebate amounts are determined by your health fund and level of cover.
Overdue Accounts
Outstanding accounts may be subject to collection proceedings. Any costs associated with debt recovery will be borne by the patient.
4. Patient Responsibilities
As a patient, you agree to:
- Provide accurate and complete medical and dental history
- Inform us of any changes to your health, medications or contact details
- Attend scheduled appointments or provide adequate notice of cancellation
- Follow post-treatment care instructions provided by your dentist
- Treat our staff and other patients with respect
5. Children and Minors
A parent or legal guardian must accompany patients under 16 years of age and provide consent for treatment. The accompanying adult is responsible for any fees incurred during the appointment.
6. Privacy
Your personal and health information is handled in accordance with our Privacy Policy and the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth).
7. Website Use

8. Intellectual Property

These terms are governed by the laws of Queensland, Australia. Any disputes arising from these terms are subject to the jurisdiction of the courts of Queensland.
