TREATMENT PRICING
What to Expect Before You Commit
Every treatment starts with a written quote. The figures below are indicative ranges — your dentist will provide an itemised cost estimate specific to your teeth and clinical needs at your consultation.
All costs are presented in writing before any treatment begins. If a health fund claim or government benefit applies, that will be reflected in your out-of-pocket estimate.
HEALTH FUNDS
Claim on the Spot at the Practice
Joyner Family Dental is connected to HICAPS, which means your health fund rebate is applied at checkout — you only pay the gap. All major Australian funds are accepted, and the team is in the process of applying for preferred provider status with several funds.
On-the-Spot Claiming
HICAPS allows you to swipe your health fund card and claim instantly. No forms, no waiting for reimbursement — the gap is all you pay on the day.
Preferred Providers
Preferred provider agreements give members of certain funds access to higher rebates and reduced out-of-pocket costs. The team is currently applying for preferred provider status with HBF, HCF, CBHS, NIB, and TUH.
What's Covered
Most general dental services — check-ups, X-rays, scale and polish, fillings, and mouthguards — attract rebates under the extras or dental component of your policy. Rebate amounts vary by fund and level of cover. Contact your fund before your appointment to confirm your available annual benefits.
All major funds accepted via HICAPS
PAYMENT PLANS
Split the Cost Interest-Free
Larger treatments don't have to come with financial stress. Joyner Family Dental offers two interest-free payment plan options — DentiCare for longer-term instalments and Afterpay for smaller splits — so you can prioritise your oral health without a lump-sum payment.
GOVERNMENT SUPPORT
You May Already Have Benefits Available
Several government and concession programs may reduce the amount you pay for dental care when eligibility and program rules apply. Your dental team can help identify what information is needed and provide itemised receipts or paperwork where required.
Child Dental Benefits Schedule
The Medicare Child Dental Benefits Schedule provides up to $1,158 in dental benefits for eligible children aged 0–17 over a two-year period. Services include check-ups, X-rays, cleaning, fissure sealants, fillings, root canals, and extractions.
Eligibility
Children aged 0–17 who receive certain government payments (such as Family Tax Benefit Part A) or Medicare-eligible government payments.
Covered services
- Examination and X-rays
- Scale and clean (professional)
- Fissure sealants
- Fillings (tooth-coloured)
- Root canal treatment
- Extractions
Benefit cap: $1,158 per child over 2 years (2024–25 rates — verify current cap before treatment).
Department of Veterans' Affairs
Dental services may be available to Veteran Gold Card holders, or Veteran White Card holders when treatment is for an accepted service-related condition. Joyner Family Dental welcomes DVA patients; please tell the team which card you hold so acceptance, billing, and any approval steps can be checked before treatment.
Eligibility
Veteran Gold Card holders, and Veteran White Card holders for accepted service-related conditions, subject to DVA rules.
Covered services
- Regular check-ups and cleaning where eligible
- Dental treatment for cavities, injuries, or accepted conditions
- Dentures, re-lines, and replacements where DVA rules apply
- High-cost items when limits, co-payments, or prior approval requirements are met
Bring your Veteran Gold Card or White Card to your appointment. Some dental items may have limits, co-payments, or approval requirements.
ADF Family Health Program
The ADF Family Health Program helps recognised ADF dependants access basic health services. Dental support includes eligible ADA-listed dental items, paid in line with program rules.
Eligibility
Recognised dependants of permanent ADF members and dependants of Reservists on continuous full-time service.
Covered services
- Eligible dental items listed by the Australian Dental Association
- Itemised receipts with service, cost, date, provider, and patient details
- Written treatment estimates before care starts
- Claim information you can check with ADF Family Health before booking
ADF Family Health claims are subject to program rules and family benefit allocation. Check eligibility and claiming requirements before treatment.
Pensioner Concession (10% Discount)
Patients aged 65 and over with a current Pensioner Concession Card receive a 10% discount on all treatment costs at Joyner Family Dental. The discount is applied at checkout — no paperwork required.
Eligibility
Patients aged 65+ holding a current Pensioner Concession Card issued by Services Australia.
Covered services
- All standard dental treatments
- Applied on top of any health fund rebate
- No annual limit on the discount
Present your Pensioner Concession Card at check-in. The discount applies to the gap remaining after any health fund rebate.
Early Super Release (Compassionate Grounds)
In certain circumstances, the Australian Tax Office may approve early access to superannuation for dental treatment that would otherwise be financially out of reach. Your dental team can assist with the clinical documentation required.
Eligibility
Australian residents with superannuation who meet the ATO's compassionate grounds criteria. Treatment must be medically necessary and unavailable through other means.
Covered services
- Major restorative work (crowns, bridges, implants)
- Treatments where significant health impact is documented
- Cases where no other financial option is available
ATO approval is required before treatment begins. The team can provide clinical documentation to support your application.
